Sagem and Elbit Systems to Establish a Joint Venture for Tactical UAS


15 September 2010 -- Sagem Defense Securite, Safran group (Safran – NYSE Euronext : SAF) and Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq and TASE: ESLT) announced the signature of a MoA (Memorandum of Agreement) regarding the intended establishment, by early 2011, of an equally owned joint venture for the tactical unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) market for France and designated international markets, in which existing initiatives will continue through the JV.

The intended joint venture will be a French corporation, located in Eragny and Montluçon (France). It will be formed by the equal contributions of assets from the two parent companies.

The new company's portfolio will comprise newly developed products, as well as current and derivative products, from Sagem and Elbit Systems.

The new company will be able to offer a wide range of products for the tactical UAS market.

Sukhoi Kirim 3 Teknisi Lagi

15 September 2010 -- Pabrik pesawat Rusia Sukhoi akan mengirimkan teknisi tambahan ke Makassar guna menggantikan tiga orang warranty team yang tewas karena mengkonsumsi metanol.

Komandan Lanud Sultan Hasanuddin Marsekal Pertama Agus Supriatna mengatakan para teknisi dijadwalkan tiba Kamis (16/9).

“Mereka akan datang bersama unit Sukhoi,” ungkap beliau.

Warranty team akan tinggal di Makassar selama setahun untuk memastikan jet tempur Sukhoi Su-27 siap dioperasikan.

Hasil investigasi Kepolisian

Hasil investigasi polisi penyebab kematian ketiga teknisi Rusia karena metanol.

“Kami menemukan metanol didalam perut, hati, lever dan paru-paru mereka,” ucap Brigadir Jenderal Budiono kepala laboratorium forensik, Rabu (15/9) kutip tempointeraktif.com.

Budiono mengatakan barang bukti dikumpulkan dalam dua kantung plastik, satu mengandung minuman keras dicampur metanol dan lainnya hanya minuman keras.

Dua orang teknisi Rusia lainnya segera dilarikan ke rumah sakit di Makassar, Selasa (14/9) setelah menderita hal serupa. Sepertinya mereka mengkonsumsi sedikit minuman oplosan tersebut, sehingga tidak berakibat fatal.

Kelima teknisi tersebut bagian dari 37 anggota tim Rusia, terdiri dari teknisi, mekanik, instruktur, inspektor yang tiba Minggu (5/9).
